Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

RacingDex is an independent, fan-built analytics tool for Tryka race results. It is operated by Barry McGaughey and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tryka or any event organiser.

2. Data we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive only the basic profile information that Google provides:

• Your display name
• Your email address
• Your profile picture URL

We do not request access to your Google account beyond these read-only fields. We never read, modify, or post to your Google data.

Race result data displayed on RacingDex is scraped from publicly available results pages published by event organisers. We do not collect or store any health, location, or financial data.

3. How we use your data

Your profile information is used solely to:

• Authenticate you and maintain your session
• Associate races you have manually claimed with your account so they appear in your “My Races” view

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the core functionality of the service.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except as required by law. Race result data is publicly available and may be displayed to any visitor.

5. Data retention

Your account data (name, email, profile picture) is retained for as long as your account is active. Cached race result data has a 90-day rolling retention period, after which it is refreshed from the source.

6. Your rights

You may request at any time that we delete your account and all associated data. To do so, email barry.mcgaughey@daa.ie with the subject line “Delete my account”. We will process your request within 30 days.

7. Cookies and sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are used.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects when changes were last made. Continued use of RacingDex after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
